EluSwitch Mobile Phase Selector

The EluSwitch mobile phase selector is designed for fully automated selection for up to 10 mobile phases. The system consists of one MayLab MS 5000 valve drive including the valve of your choice and the MS 6000 NG interface.

Software drivers for chromatography data systems must be ordered separately.

EluSwitch Interfacing
Chromatography Data Systems

Fully automated mobile phase selection within a chromatography data system is the most efficient way for unattended and overnight operation when using different methods with different mobile phases.

Software drivers are available for:

Agilent ChemStation 16 bit and 32 bit
Agilent EZChrom Elite V 3.1.4 and higher
Dionex Chromeleon V 6.4 and higher
AB Sciex Analyst V 1.4.1 and higher (tested up to version 1.7)
Thermo Scientific ChomQuest V 4.1 and higher
Thermo Scientific Xcalibur V 1.4 and higher (tested up to version 4.0)
Agilent EZChrom Elite V 3.1.4 and higher
PerkinElmer Simplicity V1.8 and higher (Integrated and part of Simplicity)

The drivers named above are designed to report every error (e.g. faulty valve)

through message boxes and will stop the actual running method immediately.

EluSwitch and GLP

(Good Laboratory Practice)

The actual valve position of the MS 5000 valve drive is constantly reported to the MS 6000 NG Interface and to the driver software. Each switching cycle is recorded in a log file, including action, time and date stamp due to GLP reasons for each day. By this means the systems activities will be manageable and reproducible for the operator.

EluSwitch and Valve Configuration

For mobile phase selection the approved VICI Cheminert low pressure stream selector valve series available in different bore diameters and in 1/16” or ¼”-28 fitting is used in combination with the MayLab MS 5000 valve drive and the MS 6000 NG Interface.

The EluSwitch mobile phase selector is available for selecting 4, 6, 8 or 10 mobile phases.

The EluSwitch mobile phase selector comes as a ready to use system and consists of the following items:

MS 5000 valve drive with 4, 6, 8 or 10 port VICI Cheminert low pressure valves
MS 6000 NG Interface (Mobile phase selection controller)
1/16” or ¼”-28 PEEK Fittings for VICI Cheminert valve (depending on valve type)
RS 232 cable for connecting MS 6000 NG interface to PC
Cable for connecting the MS 5000 valve drive to MS 6000 NG interface
